Day 2 - We have made it!!

And we can now make it anywhere because we have made it to New York. Four very tired travelers today and some moments feeling like "idiots abroad" but all worth it.

First stop the Brooklyn Bridge. So pretty. I particularly liked the sign acknowledging the builders wife saying something like " behind every good man is a self- sacrificing woman". Nice.

Pizza and ice creams under the bridge before walking them off with a walk over the bridge to Manhattan island. Once there we caught the subway to the Statton island ferry. We took the trip mainly to get a lovely view of the Statue of Liberty. She is lovely.

We wandered past the 9/11 memorial site and went inside the nearby church where many people found comfort and peace following the awful event in 2001. Very moving.

We all need a big rest before hitting the town again tomorrow...
