After a light breakfast we caught the subway into central station. Wow. What an amazing building. So beautiful, especially for a train station!
From there we headed up to the "Top of the Rock" observation deck. Great view of many of New York's icons such as Empire State Building, Chrysler building, Central Park...
Had a short visit into Central Park, followed by some shopping and a walk along 5th Avenue. I was particularly excited at seeing this building -the Flatiron building. It is featured in so many tv shows and movies and I think even on Sesame Street and that is cool enough for me.
Quick trip (including taking a wrong subway line) back to get ready for our night out to see Mary Poppins. Incredible show. Loved every minute of it. Did not fall asleep once. It was so amazing coming out onto 42nd Street after the show. The lights make it seem like it is still day time and there is a definite change in the energy of the city at night time. It feels even busier and lively. Now I understand why they say it is the city that never sleeps.
Check out Lilly's cool new t-shirt!
The view from our rooftop...
